10 Years of Educational Video and Workshop Development
For more than 10 years Studio Galli Productions has been involved in capturing and producing artisan craft educational video. Beginning with a DVD about Silk Painting produced in London, England, we traveled to some of the top craft conferences in the world such as the London Knitting and Stitching Show and the Surface Design Association Conference at the Kansas City Art Institute.
Being at these venues us the opportunity to meet leading textile artists and to produce more and more short length interview, documentary, and educational videos. Our Youtube Channel now of more than 100 video segments has nearly 10,000 subscribers and 3 million views.
While we began making only DVDs, in 2015 we began offering online streaming version of our workshops and films and to develop a whole new range of craft workshops dedicated to a growing online community. Galli Publishing was launched as an effort to provide immediate access to existing content as well as better understand the preferences and desires of our learners for future content.
We passed 1,000 subscribers in 2017, and noticed that many of our students are signing in Internationally from countries ranging from Australia to Norway. They include a lot of people who are just starting out, however they include as well professional artists, educators, and scholars who recognize the quality of content and reputation of our instructors in their community.
The best review is in showing what you have made.
For our 2nd year of online education, we plan to turn our focus to our community of learners around the world. Expanded outreach with Facebook marketing campaigns combined with more surveying of our existing learners will enable us to better understand the 'likes, wants and needs' of our community at large.
The best review we can get is in the results of what our learners have made. So for 2017, we turn the Spotlight on our Artists -- the more than 100,000 learners who in the last 10 years have purchased DVDs and online workshops from Studio Galli Films, Galli Publishing and its affiliates. We celebrate your work and accomplishments, and in doing so, we believe we will inspire more learners to purchase workshops and go on to become full-time working artists, educators, and perhaps, like Arati Devasher of London, England, watch our first film, Silk Painting with Jill Kennedy, and one day open their own online shop and wholesale business featuring a wide range of wearable art and apparel.
Our mission is to inspire existing artists and a new range of artists with the films and workshops that we produce. Whether it is documentary shorts for the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, or online workshops for some incredibly talented learners, we hope to live up to that goal.
